A 1-Click YouTube Download Button, No Extension Needed

Our Chrome extension is gone, and we are not bringing it back. This button does the same job without any store: drag it to your bookmarks bar once, then click it on any YouTube video and the video opens here, ready to download.

Quick answer

Drag the button below to your bookmarks bar. Then open any YouTube video and click it: YouTubePrint opens in a new tab with that video loaded, and you pick the format and quality. It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera and Safari on a computer. On a phone, use the shortcut further down instead.

⬇ YouTubePrint

Drag it, do not click it. No bookmarks bar? Press Ctrl + Shift + B, or Cmd + Shift + B on a Mac.

How to add it

  1. Show your bookmarks bar: Ctrl + Shift + B on Windows and Linux, Cmd + Shift + B on a Mac. In Safari it is called the Favorites Bar (View, then Show Favorites Bar).
  2. Drag the red YouTubePrint button above onto the bar and let go. A bookmark called “⬇ YouTubePrint” appears.
  3. That is it. There is nothing to install and nothing to update.

How to use it

  1. Open any YouTube video, or a Short.
  2. Click ⬇ YouTubePrint in your bookmarks bar.
  3. YouTubePrint opens in a new tab with the video already loaded. Pick MP4 or MP3 and the quality, then download.

Clicked it somewhere that is not a video? It opens the YouTubePrint homepage instead, and you can paste a link yourself.

Another shortcut: add “print” to the address

No button needed. On a YouTube video, click into the address bar, type print right after youtube, and press Enter:

youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
youtubeprint.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

The video opens here, ready to download. It works for Shorts too: youtube.com/shorts/… becomes youtubeprint.com/shorts/…

On a phone

Phones have no bookmarks bar. In the YouTube app, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste it into YouTubePrint. If you watch in a phone browser and the address starts with m.youtube.com, the address shortcut works once you drop the m.: youtubeprint.com/watch?v=…

Why a button instead of an extension

We used to offer a Chrome extension. The Chrome Web Store removed it in September 2026, and we are not putting it back. The button covers the same thing, one click from a video to the download page, and because it is only a bookmark there is nothing to install, nothing to update, and no store that can take it away. It also works in every desktop browser, not just Chrome.

What the button can and cannot see

It is one line of JavaScript inside a bookmark, a kind of shortcut people have used for years. It runs only at the moment you click it, reads the address of the tab you clicked it on, and opens that video on YouTubePrint in a new tab. It cannot read your other tabs, your history or your passwords, and it never runs on its own.

Check it yourself: right-click the bookmark, choose Edit, and the whole code is in the address field.

Rather paste a link?

The downloader works the same either way: MP4 up to 4K, or MP3.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which browsers does it work in?

Any desktop browser with a bookmarks bar: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera and Safari. It does not work inside the YouTube app on a phone; there, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste the link into YouTubePrint.

Why does nothing happen when I click the button on this page?

Because it is meant to be dragged, not clicked here. Drag it onto your bookmarks bar, then click it while you are on a YouTube video.

Does it work for Shorts?

Yes. On a Short, the button opens our Shorts downloader with that Short already loaded.

Is it safe?

Yes. It is a bookmark holding one line of code that runs only when you click it, and it only reads the address of the page you are on. You can read the whole code by editing the bookmark.

What happened to the Chrome extension?

The Chrome Web Store removed it in September 2026. This button replaces it, and it works in every desktop browser rather than only in Chrome.
