Playback carries on in the background and with the screen locked, the video pops out over other apps, anything you save plays offline, and it streams in Full HD. Why an app, when this site already downloads videos
They solve different halves of the same annoyance. YouTubePrint gets a file onto your device so you can keep it, edit it, or watch it with no signal. YouPrint is for the times you just want to watch, without an ad break landing in the middle of a sentence.
If you mostly save videos, the site is still the right tool and nothing changes. If you mostly watch on a phone, the app is the better fit.

Ads, permissions and data: the straight version
YouPrint is free, and it pays for itself with ads in parts of the app. They never interrupt a video: once something is playing, nothing breaks in. Google Play labels the app “Contains ads” for that reason, and we would rather say so here too.
An app that plays video has no reason to read your contacts, your photos, or your location. YouPrint asks for none of them, and its Google Play listing declares that it collects no data and shares none with third parties. You do not have to take that on trust: the listing shows the permissions and the data safety section before you install anything, and they are the first things worth reading on any app in this category.
Coming from MyTube?
MyTube can no longer be updated on Google Play, so YouPrint replaces it, with the same core features: no ad breaks while you watch, background and picture-in-picture play, offline saving and Full HD. Install YouPrint from the link below; once you have it, you can uninstall MyTube.
What it does not do
Worth being straight about, because every app in this space claims everything:
- It is Android only. There is no iPhone version.
- It cannot show private or paid content. Anything that needs a sign-in or a purchase stays out of reach, because the app has no sign-in.
- It is not a paid streaming subscription. There is no music service and no syncing across devices.

Is YouPrint free?
Yes. It is free on Google Play, with no subscription and no account. It shows ads in parts of the app, but never while a video is playing.
What happened to MyTube?
MyTube can no longer be updated on Google Play, so we built YouPrint to replace it. If you still have MyTube, install YouPrint and then uninstall MyTube.
What permissions does YouPrint ask for?
None. A video player has no reason to read your contacts, photos or location, and YouPrint requests no device permissions. Its Google Play listing also declares that it collects no data and shares none with third parties.
Can I keep listening with the screen locked?
Yes. Playback carries on in the background when you switch apps or lock the screen, which suits music, podcasts and interviews.
Does it work on iPhone?
No. YouPrint is on Google Play for Android phones and tablets only. On iPhone you can still use the YouTubePrint website in Safari to download videos, with no app install.
